A remarkable collection of sketches and creations by the celebrated Canadian documentary filmmaker Colin Low will be on display at a Pointe-Claire gallery during a one-week exhibition, starting Friday, Sept. 26.

Colin Low: Sketches from a Life in Film, Art and Community features more than 50 works in oil, watercolour, ink and mixed media as well as two screenings of select films directed by Low for the National Film Board of Canada.

Over his six-decade long career, Low is credited with influencing the work of younger filmmakers who followed in his path, from Stanley Kubrick to Ken Burns and laying the groundwork for what became IMAX 3D.

The  award-winning documentary filmmaker is now 88-years-old. He is expected to be in attendance for the Friday evening opening night of the exhibition at the Galerie d’Art Viva Vida, 278 Lakeshore Rd. in Pointe-Claire.
