The Jacques Cartier Bridge will be completely closed for three nights next week as work is completed to reinforce the metal structure.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, March 21–23, lanes will start closing as of 11:30 p.m. and the bridge will be completely closed until 4 a.m.
According to Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated, the closures are done to ensure the safety of both users and workers during the repairs. More complete closures are expected in the spring, when additional reinforcement work will be carried out.
The company notes that the work could be postponed to a later date if there are unsuitable weather conditions.
