A pedestrian in his 40s is in critical condition after being struck by a car Saturday morning in downtown Montreal.
Around 6:20 a.m., a driver heading west on de Maisonneuve Boulevard struck the pedestrian crossing the road at the corner of Peel Street, said Montreal police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.
The 28-year-old male driver was arrested and will take a breathalyzer test.
A perimeter has been set up and police are on the scene. The intersection is closed to traffic.
