A nighttime break-in was foiled in Île-Bizard on Sunday.
Montreal police constable Daniel Maheu, from Station 3, said a witness called 911 after seeing three young people acting in a suspicious manner around cars parked on Bellevue St. The police cruiser arrived on the scene just as a garage door was being opened with a remote control. The remote control was from a car parked in the driveway in front of the garage in question.
When the suspects saw the police, they ran off, but were apprehended at the street corner. The suspects were also in possession of a GPS device belonging to the same car.
Because all three suspects are minors, their parents were contacted. The investigation is ongoing.
