Canadian Olympic soccer player Rhian Wilkinson was in Pointe Claire on June 11 to meet local young players.
The event at Terra Cotta Park was supposed to include a clinic for about 140 players ages 6-12, but heavy rains kept everyone off the fields.
The event was organized by the Premiership Academy, a U.k.-based coach development program.
Wilkinson, who grew up in Baie d’Urfe, used the time to meet youngsters and sign autographs. She is the only member of the Canadian women’s soccer team from Quebec. She won a Olympic bronze medal at the London Games in 2012.
