Starting June 28, you’ll have to pass through a metal detector and your bag will be put through an X-ray machine to get into Montreal’s courthouse.
The new security measures were announced Tuesday, and will be in place at both the courthouse’s main entrances on St-Antoine St. and Notre-Dame St. at St-Laurent Blvd.
Security personnel will also be searching through people’s bags as they enter. The new measures are not linked to a specific threat, but are part of new policy put in place by the justice ministry.
The courthouse continues to undergo extensive renovations.
