Employees at the Bonaventure Hotel accepted an agreement in principle Wednesday to put an end to a work stoppage that had lasted nearly five weeks.
The employees voted 86 per cent in favour of accepting a four-year collective agreement that will see three-per-cent raises for the first three years and a four-per-cent raise in the last year.
Workers also saw gains related to vacation pay and severance pay, union leaders representing 200 employees at the hotel said.
Workers at the hotel went on a 36-hour strike Sept. 24, arguing they deserved salary hikes given the rise in tourism and better job protection. They were subsequently locked out by their employer.
