Two people were injured in a nine-car pileup on Highway 40 westbound near Marien Ave. in Rivière-des-Prairies, just before 8 a.m. Friday.
Traffic was back to normal by just before 9 a.m., though it had been backed up to the Charles De Gaulle Bridge, at the eastern tip of the island, as the pileup blocked three lanes, and traffic was diverted to the highway’s right shoulder.
The 40 was also affected farther west, and there was heavy traffic on the Décarie Expressway, but that did not seem to be related to the crash.
