A fire that broke out in a Montreal North apartment building Friday night took a life, that of a 57-year-old woman.
The fire started around 9:30 p.m. in an apartment on the fifth floor of a building on Henri-Bourassa Blvd. E., near Langelier. It did not spread to other homes, and was quickly brought under control by firefighters.
The firefighters discovered the body of the woman.
The cause of the fire is undetermined, but Montreal police suspect smoking could be behind it.
