More than two dozen bright young West Islanders will be honoured with Discover the Stars Awards, scholarships for higher studies in science or scientific technologies from the West Island of Montreal Chamber of Commerce
This year, the honorees — 25 Secondary 5 students graduating from public high schools in the Marguerite-Bourgeoys and Lester-B. Pearson school boards in the West Island — will receive $1,000-scholarships at a gala Oct 7 at Salle Pauline-Julien at Cégep Gérald-Godin in Île-Bizard-Ste-Geneviève.
Two of the students will also be chosen for additional $3,000-scholarships. The scholarship program was established in 1997.
