Forget “Winter is coming.”
This is the winter that just won’t go home — having overstayed its welcome in the Montreal area, the season with a bad attitude has slunk north and east.
Saguenay and eastern Quebec on Monday morning were waiting for snow, with accumulations of 5 to 15 centimetres expected. Police forces have already reported slick conditions and ditched vehicles in some areas.
For Saguenay, Environment Canada said 10 to 15 cm were coming, with westerly winds of up to 50 kilometres per hour. Rimouski, Amqui and area were in line for about 5 cm. Gaspé and the north shore are getting off easy with rainfall, but they’ll also have to endure strong winds.
Then again, weather forecasts have been known to be wrong. Maybe spring is just around the corner after all.
